The consultation
What the consultation covers
A conversation and a look under the lamp, 30 minutes on its own or the first half of the first visit. It comes before your first facial.
Your routine
What you use, in what order and how often. Bring it, or photograph it.
Your skin
Where you break out, when, and how your skin feels after you wash it.
Your days
How much sun you get, how dry the air is where you spend your day, and what you wear on your face.
What you've tried
What helped, what didn't and what you'd rather not repeat.
The note
Argelia writes down what she saw and gives you a copy, so the next visit starts there.
Your questions
Ask anything about the visits or the room before you decide.
When to see a dermatologist
We'll suggest a dermatologist when
A facial can't do everything, and Argelia would rather say so than keep booking you. She suggests a dermatologist, or your doctor, when you have:
Deep, painful lumps
These sit below where a facial reaches. Argelia says so and suggests a dermatologist.
A sudden start
Breakouts that began quickly, after a new medicine or alongside other changes in how you feel.
A spot or mole that is changing
Anything that grows, bleeds or changes color is for a doctor to look at first.
Skin that is hot, swollen or oozing
Argelia asks you to see a doctor before you book another visit.
A mark that stays, or a scar forming
She writes it down and suggests someone who can look at it properly.
Notes that don't change
If her notes read the same after a few visits, she tells you and suggests the next person to ask.
